EyeRec is meant as a way for recording a persons eye movements, allowing you to subsequently review and analyze them as well as to send them to a correspondent.
The app presents an initially empty screen, where all the recording will be listed. The app is designed to be used with the smartphone oriented in landscape mode.
In the upper right corner. you can see the button (+) used to create a new recording. A recording consists of a set of videos, each referring to a different movement.
After pressing (+), the app requires a name with which you will later be able to recall this recording. At this name given by the user, the app prepends the indication of the current date in the form YYYY-MM-DD.
At this point the app displays the recording summary page, which consists of a matrix of buttons, each of which allows to perform a video recording during a specific type of head and/or body movement.
By touching the first button (1/A), you access a page with a brief mnemonic call to the modes for that type of shooting and the commands for the actual video recording. More precisely, you’ll see:
• a brief memo to the execution of the movement
• an image that recalls the same modalities
• a REC button, through which you start the smartphone camera
• a REVIEW button, through which to review the video, after shooting (disabled, in Fig. 5)
• a SAVE button to confirm (disabled, in Fig. 5)
• a DISCARD button, if you aren’t satisfied with the recording
Pressing the REC will activate the video camera of your phone/tablet. You can then shoot your video. After confirmation, you’ll be taken back to the previous screen. You can proceed filling up all the suggested video recordings.
